LAURA'S HONEY BROWNIES 9-20-03
2 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
1/3 cup butter or margarine
¾ cup sifted flour
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
½ cup honey
½ cup sugar
½ cup chopped pecans
Melt chocolate and butter over low heat. Stir until smooth. Cool to room temperature. Sift the flour, powder and salt. Beat the eggs, then add honey, sugar and vanilla. Beat the cooled chocolate into the egg mixture. Add the dry ingredients. Beat well. Divide the batter into 2 greased square pans and bake 25 minutes in a 350° oven.
HONEY SCALLOPED TOMATOES 9-20-03
2 cups cooked tomatoes
½ tsp. salt
pepper to taste
2 tbsps. butter
2 tbsps. honey
1 cup cracker crumbs
Cover bottom of buttered baking dish with a layer of tomatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, dots of butter and honey. Top with a layer of cracker crumbs. Repeat layers. Bake for 20 minutes in hot oven.
